A handful of prominent Bay State Mormons are among the hundreds of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who donated money to help pass Proposition 8, California’s voter-approved ban on gay marriage.

Michelle Ainge, wife of Celtics [team stats] cheese Danny Ainge, and a pair of Mitt Romney’s daughters-in-law heeded the church’s call and ponied up to get the controversial same-sex marriage ban enacted.
