Inauguration a hot ticket in capital city
Friday, November 14, 2008 -
WASHINGTON - President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration is expected to draw more than a million to the capital, according to the National Park Service, and already some lawmakers have stopped taking ticket requests and hotels have booked up.
Congressional offices are reporting tens of thousands of requests for the 240,000 tickets for the Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony. Tickets are supposed to be distributed for free, and after consultation with the Joint Inaugural Committee, eBay said yesterday it will not allow the tickets to be sold on its Web site.
