Israel trip off, but GOP rips stumping

Wary of a possible budgetary bloodbath because of the nation’s fiscal crisis, Gov. Deval Patrick has “postponed” a planned taxpayer-funded junket to Israel in a money-saving gesture.

Patrick was supposed to head to Israel next month on a trade mission but canceled the trip for financial reasons. The cancellation comes a week after Lt. Gov. Tim Murray called off a similar trip to Ireland for the same reason.
