Thomas Menino heads to Italy to boost Boston’s global image

Mayor Thomas M. Menino, fresh off a trip to the Democratic convention in Denver, jets off tomorrow to Milan, Italy, to rub elbows with world political leaders at a European economic conference.

The mayor, who’s traveling with his wife, Angela, speaks Saturday evening on the topic of cities as drivers for international economic growth, and later that evening attends a gala dinner. He’ll meet young European entrepreneurs Sunday and stay in Italy until Tuesday, when he flies home.
