Reaching across the partisan divide

In the band of brothers that Sen. John McCain has gathered during his years in Washington, Sen. Joe Lieberman remains first among equals.

And so it was hardly surprising that this maverick ex-Democrat should be among the first convention speakers to introduce his friend, his colleague and for the past several months his near constant companion on the campaign trail to the nation last night in a way that only he could.
