Josephine “Jo” (Barnum) Wallace of Milton, great-grandniece of the showman P.T. Barnum and a former professional ice skater, died Wednesday at Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. She was 79.

Born in New York City, she lived in Pelham, N.Y., before moving to Milton where she was a longtime resident.
