Summer leaves movie memories in its wake
The warm weather isn’t completely gone, but it is time to wrap up the summer movie season.
Heath Ledger’s Joker was a boogeyman from beyond the grave. A trash compactor named WallE stole our hearts. ABBA made us burst into song again in “Mamma Mia!” (a film now scheduled to be redundantly re-released as a singalong). But I nominate Robert Downey Jr. as king of the summer-movie season for daringly offbeat turns in “Iron Man” and “Tropic Thunder.”
