Poppa’s family fix (and more...)

Sure, Poppa B’s serves plenty of grits, fried catfish and biscuits and gravy. But don’t call this bustling Blue Hill Avenue eatery a Southern restaurant.

“It’s food I grew up eating here with my family,” said owner and Boston native Boyce Slayman Jr.
